RATING: 7.5 out of 10
If nabitin kayo sa horror movies nung Halloween, then you’re in luck because Overlord is now out in cinemas to satisfy that craving. Parang siyang dessert na McFlurry pagkatapos kumain ng 2 order ng Chicken McSpaghetti. (Sorry gutom ako habang tinatype ko to)
On the eve of the D-Day landings during WWII, a squad of paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to destroy a radio located inside a chuch in a remote French village. They soon find out that something more nefarious is going on inside the bowels of the church – it’s actually a factory for zombie super soldiers for the Nazi army. Isipin mo parang Nazi version ni Captain America pero hindi kasing pogi ni Chris Evans at hindi nakaka-insecure.
Overlord is an interesting hybrid of genres that satisfies the itch for a good war movie as well as for an entertaining horror film. Yun lang hindi siya masyadong nakakatakot and I would have rated the movie higher if it were. May mga jump scares here and there similar to what you’ll see during one of the better episodes of The Walking Dead. Perfect for those who scare easily na hindi kaya yung mga tipong Hereditary or The Haunting of Hill House. If you’re a fan of war or zombie movies, give Overlord a shot.
