We really hope that’s just mud and not something else, Captain Jack.

Super Bowl LI has come and gone and it will probably go down in history as one of the greatest games of football ever played. (Personally di ako nanuod pero yan ang sinasabi nila so baka totoo) But let’s be honest, Filipinos don’t really care much about football. And unless you’re a fan of Lady Gaga, you wouldn’t care so much for the half-time show as well.

If you’re like me though, then you most likely enjoyed the Super Bowl because of all the movie trailers that aired during the commercials. Here are some of the trailers that got people talking:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy is actually one of my favorites among all the Marvel movies and the latest trailer for the sequel will make fans wish for April to come sooner. The sequel seems to have kept the same irreverent humor that made the first one such a hit. I actually liked the first movie so much that I bought myself a Baby Groot action figure for Christmas. Ayun awa ng diyos naka-tanga lang siya sa table ko, isang paalala na hindi dapat ako gumastos sa mga bagay na walang kabuluhan.

Finally it seems like we’re going to get the Wolverine movie we deserve! The series hasn’t really been good due in large part to how the filmmakers treat the material. Maniniwala ka ba na yung taong may lumalabas na patalim sa mga kamao niya e hindi nakakapatay ng tao?! But the powers that be seem to have finally learned a thing or two from the success of the R-rated Deadpool. ‘Logan’ is rated R as well and seems like a cross between Mad Max and Netflix’ Stranger Things. I don’t know about you guys but I’m so in.

Transformers: The Last Knight

“Bakit nag-aaway si Bumblebee at Optimus Prime?!” And from that scene alone we are once again ready to give the Transformers series another chance. Transformers: The Last Knight is one of those movies that’s just too big for audiences to pass up. Parang laban ni Pacquiao yan kahit hindi na masyadong exciting yung mga huli, kailangan mo pa rin panuorin. Give it a chance, but don’t expect too much.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Captain Jack is back! Pirates of the Caribbean is just one of those movies I personally have to watch regardless of whether the reviews are good or bad. In the latest installment in the series, Jack Sparrow will try to outsmart Captain Salazar, a new villain played by Spanish actor Javier Bardem. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, that was Orlando Bloom you saw in the trailer. Wouldn’t be surprised if Keira Knightley has a cameo in there somewhere.

So there you have it, the trailers that got us all excited during the Super Bowl! How about you guys? Which one’s your favorite?
